چکیده

The Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry presents research papers covering all aspects of mass spectrometry, incorporating coverage of fields of scientific inquiry in which mass spectrometry can play a role. Comprehensive in scope, the journal publishes papers on both fundamentals and applications of mass spectrometry. Fundamental subjects include instrumentation principles, design, and demonstration, structures and chemical properties of gasphase ions, studies of thermodynamic properties, ion spectroscopy, chemical kinetics, mechanisms of ionization, theories of ion fragmentation, cluster ions, and potential energy surfaces. In addition to full papers, the journal offers Communications, Application Notes, and Accounts and Perspectives. All papers should describe new mass spectrometry science. Reports of applications that utilize standard mass spectrometry approaches should be sent to application journals. 2015 Impact Factor: 3.031

ACCOUNT AND PERSPECTIVE Macromolecule Mass Spectrometry: Citation Mining of User Documents

Identifying research users, applications, and impact is important for research performers, managers, evaluators, and sponsors. Identification of the user audience and the research impact is complex and time consuming due to the many indirect pathways through which fundamental research can impact applications. This paper identified the literature pathways through which two highly-cited papers of...

Oxidative stress, obesity, and breast cancer risk: results from the Shanghai Women's Health Study.

PURPOSE Increased reactive oxygen species may exhaust the antioxidant capability of human defense systems, leading to oxidative stress and cancer development. Urinary F2-isoprostanes, secondary end products of lipid peroxidation, are more accurate markers of oxidative stress than other available biomarkers. No prospective study has investigated whether levels of 15-F(2t)-isoprostane (15-F(2t)-I...

Analytical information from mass spectrometry, past and future.

Two basic reasons are proposed for the tremendous success and future promise of mass spectrometry: (1) the unusually high volume of data obtainable from unusually small samples and (2) the success in converting these data into structural and quantitative information. The ion abundance dimension of mass spectrometric data is remarkable in its pico-to-ttogram sensitivity and >10(6) dynamic range,...

Electrospray mass spectra from protein electroeluted from sodium dodecylsulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis gels.

Electrospray ionization/tandem mass spectrometry of proteins separated on sodium dodecylsulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) gels is severely limited by the requirement that the protein be completely separated from the SDS. As shown here, the gaseous noncovalent SDS adducts of protonated proteins thus formed can be dissociated by infrared irradiation. ESI spectra from myoglobin...

MALDI-TOF-MS analysis of small molecules using modified mesoporous material SBA-15 as assisted matrix.

Mesoporous silica, SBA-15 was successfully functionalized with quinoline moiety, and was applied as a matrix in the MALDI-TOF-MS analysis of small molecules. The modified SBA-15 material [SBA-15-8-(3-(triethoxysilyl)propoxy) quinoline, SBA-15-8QSi] was obtained by using calcined SBA-15 and 8-hydroxy quinoline. The structure of the functionalized mesoporous material was systemically characterize...
